Erik Fosnes Hansen was born in New York in 1965 and grew up in Oslo. He studied in Stuttgart for two years and published his first novel, “Falkenturm,” in 1985 at the age of 18; the book was celebrated in Norway as a literary event. His other works include “Choral am Ende der Reise,” “Das Löwenmädchen” (2008), and “Ein Hummerleben” (2019). In addition to novels, he published essays and worked as a reviewer and literary critic. “Choral am Ende der Reise” became an international bestseller.
