Erich Kowalew

Erich Kowalew was born in Munich and studied piano, composition and arranging at the GSM School of Music in Los Angeles. In 1992, he founded the Kiddys Music school in Munich and created Kiddy, a musical turtle who helped him introduce children to music in a playful way. From 2005, Kowalew served as musical director of the Munich-based MiMi Foundation, where he was involved in projects including “Music and Health” at Dr. von Hauner Children’s Hospital. He also worked as a composer and arranger for numerous children’s music productions. In 2008, Kiddys Music, together with the association Tage des Lachens, received a “Germany – Land of Ideas” award for its work at Heidelberg University Hospital.
