Epikur

Epicurus (c. 341/342 BC, Samos–270 BC) was an ancient Greek philosopher. He wrote and taught on physics, epistemology and ethics, and founded Epicureanism, a philosophical school that placed emphasis on pleasure and the good life. After founding his own school in Asia Minor, he moved to Athens, where he continued teaching in a house with a garden. His followers consequently became known as the “philosophers of the Garden.”
