Emmanuel Alloa

Emmanuel Alloa (born 1980) is a philosopher whose work focuses on aesthetics, art philosophy and cultural philosophy. His academic career included a position as a research associate at the NFS Bildkritik in Basel from 2008 to 2011 and an assistant professorship in cultural theory and cultural philosophy at the University of St. Gallen. He later taught as a professor of aesthetics and art philosophy at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland. His publications include “Das durchscheinende Bild. Konturen einer medialen Phänomenologie” and “The Share of Perspective.” He also edited and translated the anthology “Bildtheorien aus Frankreich.”
