Emilia Smechowski

Emilia Smechowski was born in Poland in 1983. In 1988, she fled to West Berlin with her family. She is a journalist and author whose reportage has received several awards, including the German Reporter Award. Her books include *Wir Strebermigranten* (2017) and *Rückkehr nach Polen* (2019).
