Emil Alphons Rheinhardt (1889–1945) was a writer born in Vienna. He studied medicine and initially worked as a physician and psychoanalyst. His first poems were published in 1913 under the title *Stunden und Schicksale*. From 1922 to 1926, he worked as an editor and translator, and he achieved considerable success with historical novels. Rheinhardt died of typhus in Dachau concentration camp in 1945.
