Elmore Leonard

Elmore Leonard (1925–2013) was an American writer. He began writing in the late 1960s and published more than 40 books over the course of his career. Many of his works were successfully adapted for film, including Get Shorty, starring John Travolta and Danny DeVito. His crime novels often focus less on police officers or private detectives than on distinctive characters and a dry, understated style. Leonard died in Detroit in 2013.
