Eknath Easwaran

Eknath Easwaran was born in Kerala, South India, in 1910. After studying English literature, he became a professor in Nagpur and moved to California in 1959 as a university teacher. There he became known as an author, translator, spiritual teacher, and meditation teacher. In 1961, he founded the Blue Mountain Center of Meditation. He published more than two dozen books and died in 1999.
