Edward van de Vendel

Edward van de Vendel (born 1964 in Leerdam, the Netherlands) is a Dutch author. Before beginning his writing career, he worked as a teacher. He wrote novels, poems, songs, comics, picture-book texts and nonfiction for children and young people. His widely acclaimed works have been translated into numerous languages and published in more than 25 countries. His awards include the Theo Thijssen Prize for his collected works, the Golden and Silver Brushes, and the German Youth Literature Prize, which he received in 2016. He received the Silver Griffel for “Der kleine Fuchs.”
