Edward Brooke-Hitching

Edward Brooke-Hitching is a British documentary filmmaker and author. Before completing a degree in film studies at the University of Exeter, he worked in an ice factory, for several newspapers and in the theatre. The son of an antiquarian, he developed an early passion for old maps and books. A historical map from his family’s collection prompted his research into geographical phantoms. His books include Atlas der erfundenen Orte and Die Bibliothek des Wahnsinns, and he has received awards for his documentary work.
