Edith Schreiber-Wicke

Edith Schreiber-Wicke initially worked as an advertising copywriter after studying. She subsequently wrote short stories, poetry and screenplays, as well as books for children and young adults. Her first children’s book received the Austrian Children’s and Young People’s Book Prize. Her literary work earned numerous further distinctions, including the Austrian Art Prize and the Janusz Korczak Medal. Her books have been translated into many languages. She and illustrator Carola Holland received the Till Eulenspiegel Prize for “Als die Raben noch bunt waren” (“When the Ravens Were Still Colorful”).
