Edith Holden

Edith Holden (1871–1920) was a British book illustrator known particularly for her drawings of animals and nature. After attending art school, she created an illustrated diary devoted to the natural world. Holden was married to the sculptor Ernest Smith. She died in 1920 after falling into the River Thames while picking chestnut branches.
