Edeltraud Hanappi-Egger studied computer science at TU Wien, where she also completed her habilitation in the field. From 2002 onward, she was a professor at WU Vienna, serving as the university’s rector from 2015 to 2023. Before that, she headed the Institute for Gender and Diversity in Organizations and held a Jean Monnet Chair for “Gendered Inequalities and Classism in Europe.” She undertook research stays at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and McGill University. Her research focuses included gender and diversity management, inequality, and classism.
