Dylan Thomas

Dylan Thomas (1914–1953) was a Welsh writer, best known as a poet. Born in Swansea, he worked in London from 1934 for magazines and the BBC. In addition to poetry, he wrote essays, letters, screenplays, autobiographical prose and the radio play “Under Milk Wood,” which received the Prix Italia posthumously in 1954. Thomas died in New York in 1953 while on a reading tour. The musician Bob Dylan took his stage name from him.
