Douna Loup was born in Geneva in 1982. She spent her childhood and youth in France and later worked in Madagascar before establishing herself as a writer. Her first novel, L’Embrasure (2010), received the Förderpreis der Schweizerischen Schillerstiftung and the Prix Michel-Dentan.
