Dorothy Bowers

Dorothy Bowers (1902–1948) was an English writer. She studied at Oxford on a scholarship and initially worked as a teacher, later in libraries and at the Ministry of War. In addition to writing poetry, she published five detective novels, which appeared in Britain during the 1930s and 1940s. Her success led to her being invited by Dorothy L. Sayers to join the Detection Club. Bowers died of tuberculosis in 1948.
