Dorota Danielewicz was born in Poznań, Poland, and moved to West Berlin in 1981. She studied ethnology and Slavic studies at Freie Universität Berlin and Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. After a period in New York, where she worked for the United Nations, she spent nearly two decades as a radio journalist for SFB and later rbb. She also worked for ten years as the Berlin correspondent of Radio France Internationale. Her publications include “Auf der Suche nach der Seele Berlins” (2014), “Droga Jana” (2020, published in Poland), and “Der weiße Gesang” (2022).
