Doris Distelmaier-Haas

Doris Distelmaier-Haas was born in Bonn, studied Romance languages and literature and English, and earned a doctorate on Stéphane Mallarmé. For Reclam Verlag, she translated works by Molière, Guy de Maupassant, Charles Perrault and others. She published numerous volumes of poetry and prose, often with her own illustrations, including “Königliche Gärten” (2012), “Meine Leutasch” (2013) and “Istanbul. Märchenfern und tagnah” (2014). She received artistic training at academies in Perugia and Salzburg and also established herself as a visual artist through more than 20 solo exhibitions. Her poetry was recognized, among other distinctions, by her inclusion in the anthology for the 2005 Rostock Pablo Neruda Prize and by several awards from the Bibliothek deutschsprachiger Gedichte.
