Doris Cramer

Doris Cramer trained as a bookseller and managed a community library for several years before turning to writing. From 1984 onward, she undertook regular extended journeys through North Africa and the Middle East, travelling from Morocco to Syria. Seventeen of these trips took her to the far south of Morocco. The landscapes, Berber culture and life in the desert regions of southern Morocco influenced her literary work.
