Dora Heldt was born on the island of Sylt in 1961. A trained bookseller, she worked for more than 30 years as a publishing representative for a major consumer publisher before becoming known as an author. Her works include humorous family and women’s novels such as “Urlaub mit Papa,” “Bei Hitze ist es wenigstens nicht kalt,” and “Drei Frauen am See,” as well as crime novels including “Wir sind die Guten” and “Mathilda oder Irgendwer stirbt immer.” She also published short stories and columns. Her books are often set in northern Germany.
