Diogenes Laertios

Diogenes Laertius was an ancient writer who probably lived around the middle of the 3rd century AD. He may have come from Bithynia in Asia Minor. His ten-volume work, *Lives and Opinions of Eminent Philosophers*, is a compilation of surviving biographies and anecdotes about ancient philosophers. Among the figures portrayed in it is Diogenes of Sinope.
