Dieter Stiewi

Dieter Stiewi was born in Aachen in 1964 and grew up in Würselen. He studied mechanical engineering and economics at RWTH Aachen University and, from 1991 to 1993, additionally completed a distance-learning course in fiction writing at the Axel Andersson Academy in Hamburg. From 1995 onward, he worked as a mechanical engineer in the Rhine-Main region. He published short stories, particularly in the field of speculative fiction, from 2005. In 2009, he created Detective Saliha Durmaz, who investigates crimes in and around Offenbach. His works also include the historical crime novel “Königserbe” (2014).
