Diana Gabaldon

Diana Gabaldon, born in Arizona in 1952, was a professor of marine biology and zoology at the University of Arizona before turning to writing full-time. Her first novel, *Outlander* (published in German as *Feuer und Stein*), launched the internationally successful Highland saga. The series was later adapted for television as *Outlander*.
