D.H. Lawrence

David Herbert Lawrence (1885–1930) was a British writer. Born in Eastwood, Nottinghamshire, he worked for several years as a teacher in a mining district before becoming a freelance writer in 1912. In addition to numerous novels and short stories, he published travel books, essays, and poetry. Lawrence died in Vence near Nice in 1930.
