Dennis Cooper published numerous novels, poetry collections, and works of nonfiction; his books appeared in 19 languages. His novel The Sluts (2005) received the Prix Sade and the Lambda Literary Award for Best Novel of the Year. Other works include The Marbled Swarm (2012), Zac’s Haunted House (2015), and Zac’s Freight Elevator (2016). The latter two books consist entirely of animated GIFs. Cooper also collaborated with artist and filmmaker Zac Farley on the film Like Cattle Towards Glow (2015) and wrote for French theater director and choreographer Gisèle Vienne.
