David Satter

David Satter is an American journalist and author specializing in Russian and Soviet affairs. From 1976 to 1982, he was the Moscow correspondent for the Financial Times. He has written five books about Russia. After 1982, he was initially prevented from traveling to the Soviet Union; he was allowed to return in 1990. In December 2013, he was expelled from Russia and declared “undesirable.” He was the first US journalist barred from entering Russia since the end of the Cold War.
