David le Breton

David Le Breton, born in 1953, is a French sociologist. He taught sociology as a professor at the University Marc Bloch in Strasbourg. His research focuses on the human body and its sociocultural, historical, and psychological representations. Le Breton has pursued the development of an “anthropology of the body.” His works available in German include a standard work on pain and a study of human risk-taking behavior.
