David Ignatius (born 1950) is an American journalist and author. He was an award-winning columnist and co-editor of The Washington Post and wrote for publications including the International Herald Tribune and The New York Times Magazine. His journalism focused particularly on intelligence services and the Middle East. Ignatius authored several political thrillers. His novel Der Mann, der niemals lebte was adapted for film by Ridley Scott, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe.
