David Guterson

David Guterson was born in 1956 in Seattle, Washington. He initially worked as a high-school teacher and published short stories and journalistic essays alongside his teaching. His debut novel, *Snow Falling on Cedars*, was published in 1994 and received the PEN/Faulkner Award. Guterson went on to write further novels, poetry, and short fiction. His later publications include *Ed King* (2012), *The Other* (2013), and the story collection *Between People* (2013).
