David Foster Wallace

David Foster Wallace (1962–2008) was an American writer and essayist. He studied English, philosophy, and mathematics and initially pursued a career as a professional tennis player. He later taught creative writing at Pomona College in California. His best-known works include the novel *Infinite Jest*, *The Broom of the System*, *Brief Interviews with Hideous Men*, *Consider the Lobster*, and *The Pale King*.
