Damon Galgut

Damon Galgut, born in Pretoria in 1963, is a South African writer. His novel *The Promise* received the 2021 Booker Prize. He had previously been shortlisted for the prize for *The Good Doctor* (2005) and *In a Strange Room* (2010). His novels *The Impostor* and *Arctic Summer* were nominated for numerous literary awards. Galgut’s work has been published in sixteen languages.
