Claudia Bruns

Claudia Bruns (born 1969) is a historian and cultural scholar. She was a junior professor at the Institute of Cultural Studies at Humboldt University of Berlin and is a professor of historical anthropology and gender studies there. Her research focuses on European gender and intellectual history, the history of sexuality and the body, and the history of colonial racism and antisemitism. Her publications include “Politik des Eros. Der Männerbund in Wissenschaft, Politik und Jugendkultur. 1880–1934” (2008), as well as the edited volumes “Rasse und Raum” (2017) and “Ethnizität und Geschlecht” (2005).
