Claire Goll

Claire Goll (1890–1977) was born in Nuremberg and grew up in Munich. In 1911, she married the publisher Heinrich Studer. After their separation, she moved to Switzerland in 1917, where she met Yvan Goll in the circle of Zurich Dadaists. They went to Paris together in 1919 and married in 1921. The couple moved within the circles of the Parisian avant-garde. In 1939, they fled to the United States via Cuba and returned to Paris in 1947. Claire Goll died in Paris in 1977.
