Christopher Harding

Christopher Harding, born in London in 1978, is a cultural historian specializing in Japan, India, and relations between East and West. He studied at Oxford and conducted research in Japan. Harding taught Asian history at the University of Edinburgh and worked as a journalist and radio presenter for BBC Radio 3 and BBC Radio 4. His writing has appeared in BBC History Magazine, The Guardian, and The New York Times. His books include Japan Story: In Search of a Nation (2019), The Japanese (2020), and The Light of Asia (2024).
