Christopher de Hamel worked at the auction house Sotheby’s, where he examined and catalogued famous manuscripts. From 2000, he served as librarian of the Parker Library at Corpus Christi College in Cambridge. His book *Pracht und Anmut* made him the first author to receive both the Wolfson Prize and the Duff Cooper Prize.
