Christoph Wolff

Christoph Wolff (born 1940) is a German musicologist and Bach scholar. He was a professor of musicology at Harvard University and director of the Bach Archive Leipzig from 2001 to 2013; he also held an honorary professorship at the University of Freiburg. His research focuses on music history from the fifteenth to the twentieth century, particularly the works of Johann Sebastian Bach and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. His scholarly honors include the Dent Medal of the Royal Musical Association in 1978, the State Prize of North Rhine-Westphalia in 1992, and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation Research Award in 1996.
