Christoph Nix

Christoph Nix (born 1954 in Hesse) is a lawyer, theatre director, writer and stage director. He studied law and political science in Giessen and received a doctorate from the University of Bremen in 1988. Nix taught criminal and theatre law at universities in Germany and Switzerland and served as artistic director of theatres in Nordhausen, Kassel and Konstanz. He published novels, essays, plays, and scholarly works on law and theatre. His novels include *Junge Hunde* (2008) and *Muzungu* (2018). During his student years, Nix trained as a clown and performed with, among others, Augusto Boal and Gardi Hutter. He also organised and developed workshops and joint theatre productions involving African and German artists.
