Christoph Niemann

Christoph Niemann, born in Waiblingen in 1970, studied at the State Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart. He worked as an illustrator, graphic designer, designer and author, and lived in New York from 1997 to 2008. His illustrations appeared in publications including The New York Times Magazine, Wired, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung and Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin. From the late 1990s onward, he created more than 20 covers for The New Yorker. Niemann has published and designed numerous books for children and adults. His honors include awards from the Art Directors Club, AIGA and the Lead Academy; in 2010, he was inducted into the Art Directors Club Hall of Fame.
