Christine Ott

Christine Ott studied Romance and German studies in Eichstätt and Saint-Étienne and subsequently worked at the universities of Heidelberg, Marburg, and Harvard. She received her doctorate in 2002 with a dissertation on language reflection in the poetry of Eugenio Montale. In 2009, she completed her habilitation with a study of bibliophagy in modern literature. From 2011 onward, she taught Italian and French literary studies as a professor at Goethe University Frankfurt. Her research areas include twentieth-century Italian poetry, poetics, autofiction and autobiographical writing, as well as literature and food culture.
