Christine Battermann

Christine Battermann was born in Wuppertal in 1968. She studied Arabic and Turkish at the University of Bonn’s Seminar for Oriental Languages. In 1999, she began working as a freelance literary translator, translating Arabic poetry and prose, including works by Mahmoud Darwish, Ahmed Mourad, Khaled Alesmael, and Najem Wali.
