Christina Berndt (born 1969) studied biochemistry and earned a doctorate in immunology at Heidelberg University. She worked as a science journalist and science editor at the Süddeutsche Zeitung, and also reported for publications including Der Spiegel. Berndt has written several nonfiction books on medicine, psychology and the life sciences, including Resilienz. Das Geheimnis der psychischen Widerstandskraft, Zufriedenheit, Individuation and Die Rundum-Gesund-Formel. Her journalism has received several awards, including the Wächterpreis der deutschen Tagespresse in 2013, the Karl Buchrucker Prize in 2018 and an honorary award from the German Society for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy in 2019. She has been named Science Journalist of the Year several times.
