Christiane Tramitz, born in Munich, studied speech science and earned a doctorate at the Max Planck Institute for Behavioral Research or Behavioral Physiology. As a behavioral scientist, she published numerous nonfiction books on the biological foundations of human behavior, including »Irren ist männlich«, »Unter Glatzen« and »Ich und die anderen« (with Jens Corssen). She later turned increasingly to fiction and true crime or factual novels. Her other notable works include »Harte Tage, gute Jahre. Die Sennerin vom Geigelstein«. Tramitz received the Karl Buchrucker Förderpreis for her reportage »Zerrupfte Paradiesvögel«. She is the mother of twins.
