Christian Stocker

Christian Stöcker, born in 1973, studied psychology in Würzburg and Bristol as well as cultural criticism at the Bavarian Theatre Academy in Munich. He received a doctorate in cognitive psychology from the University of Würzburg in 2003. From 2005 onward, he worked for SPIEGEL ONLINE, initially in the science and digital-world sections; from 2011 to 2016, he headed the digital-world section. In 2016, he was appointed professor of digital communication at Hamburg University of Applied Sciences. He received the German Psychological Society’s science journalism award in 2010. His books include *Second Life* (2007) and *Nerd Attack!* (2011).
