Christian Mertens

Christian Mertens, born in Vienna in 1965, is a historian. He studied history and political science at the University of Vienna, worked as a freelance researcher and journalist, and served as a political adviser from 1991 to 1999. He subsequently worked as a research associate at the Vienna City Library. Mertens has curated several exhibitions, including “Wien wird Bundesland,” and has published numerous scholarly works on historical and political subjects. He has also contributed to the Vienna History Wiki and to provenance research.
