Christian Liedtke (born 1964 in Hamburg) studied German and philosophy in Hamburg, Cincinnati, Cologne, and Bonn. He worked as a research associate and archivist at the Heinrich Heine Institute in Düsseldorf, where he was responsible, among other things, for Heinrich Heine’s manuscript legacy and the editorial work on the Heine Yearbook. Liedtke wrote a biography of Heinrich Heine as well as «Heinrich Heine. Ein ABC» (2015) and «Das Märchen meines Lebens» (2020). He also edited numerous works and collections of Heine’s correspondence, including «Heinrich Heine im Porträt» (2006) and «Literaturbetrieb und Verlagswesen im Vormärz» (2011). He was a contributor to the online Heinrich Heine Portal edition.
