Christian Jacq

Christian Jacq is an Egyptologist, author, and writer of numerous Egyptological studies. He studied archaeology and Egyptology at the Sorbonne and earned a doctorate in Egyptology. He founded the Institut Ramsès, dedicated to preserving endangered ancient monuments in Egypt. He became particularly known for historical novels about ancient Egypt, including the bestselling series about the pharaoh Ramses. His interest in Egyptian history began at the age of thirteen, and at seventeen he visited the historic sites along the Nile for the first time.
