Chris Kraus, born in Göttingen in 1963, is a German writer, screenwriter and filmmaker. His films include the feature debut »Scherbentanz«, »Four Minutes«, »Poll« and »The Bloom of Yesterday«. His work has received numerous awards; in 2007, »Four Minutes« won the German Film Award for Best Feature Film. As a novelist, Kraus is particularly known for the family saga »The Cold Blood«, which was translated into several languages and became a bestseller in France and Spain.
