Charlotte Ueckert

Charlotte Ueckert was born in Oldenburg and studied literary studies, psychology and art history. As a research associate at the University of Hamburg, she worked in the fields of exile literature and post-war literature; she later worked as an editor, lecturer and freelance writer. She published poetry, travel essays, fiction, anthologies and biographies of artists, including books on Paula Modersohn-Becker, Niki de Saint Phalle and Christina of Sweden. Her works also include “Hamburgerinnen. Eine Frauengeschichte der Stadt,” “Das Meer und der Norden,” “Künstler und Entdecker in der Südsee” and the poetry collection “Andere Wesen.” Her poems have been translated into several languages.
