Charles Brauer

Charles Brauer (born in 1935 in Berlin) is a German actor and audiobook and dubbing artist. He performed at major German theaters, including the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg, the Münchner Kammerspiele, and the Schillertheater Berlin. He became widely known as Hamburg crime-series commissioner Brockmöller in the television series “Tatort,” appearing in 38 episodes alongside Manfred Krug. As a narrator, he recorded, among other works, all of John Grisham’s thrillers as well as classics such as “The Little Lord” and “A Christmas Carol.” In 2024, he received the German Acting Award for lifetime achievement. His memoir, “Die blaue Mütze: Und andere Geschichten aus meinem Leben,” was published in 2023.
