Chargesheimer

Chargesheimer (1924–1971/72) was born in Cologne and studied at the Cologne Werkschulen and the Bavarian State Institute for Photography. He worked as a photographer and photography teacher, stage designer, and director, and also created wire sculptures and kinetic sculptures. Between 1957 and 1970, he published 14 photobooks on subjects including the Rhineland, Romanesque art, jazz, theater, the Ruhr region, Berlin, Hanover, and Cologne. He died around the turn of 1971/72 under unclear circumstances.
